Texas Auto Insurance Rates – Get Your Annual Check-up!
Sometimes things are revealed during yearly physicals. Sometimes there are things that we may not want to know about that will manifest themselves during annual check ups. I have had a great deal of experience working in a hospital environment. I have had extensive interaction with cancer patients.During my conversations with some of them, they may tell me that they had no prior symptoms but were just going in for a routine check up.
To their surprise, their labs or xray results were abnormal, and extensive tests revealed they had cancer. If found in its early stages, treatment can start right away and remission is very possible. Now this is not to equate having been diagnosed with cancer to having insurance, because you can not truly compare a serious, life-threatening disease such as cancer to something less serious as auto insurance.
With that being said, it is important to get at least a yearly review of your insurance policy. Does your current insurance agent provide you with an annual review of your auto coverage? Because Texas auto insurance rates can change throughout the year, if your agent is not proactive you should ask for a auto insurance policy evaluation.
A claim or traffic violation that you had in the past, may have “rolled off” your driving record. Your credit history may have also improved, or you now have had continuous auto insurance coverage. All this and more may change your driving risk, which could now result in a lower auto insurance premium.
An annual review of your policy is also good because your financial status may change. Your car has gotten older. It may not be so prudent to have “full-coverage” on that old vehicle now. Maybe you can afford more coverage. Periodically,Texas changes it minimum liability requirements. This could all be addressed in your yearly review.
There is also nothing wrong with getting competitive quotes from other agents if you are not happy with your present Texas auto insurance rate. An agent that can offer you auto insurance quotes from different insurance companies is a great asset. Only an independent insurance agent truly fits this bill. They can enter your insurance information through various companies and should be able to get you a pretty good rate.
A good insurance agent will review your insurance status prior to you receiving a renewal notice. This agent has either two choices: (1) find you a cheaper rate which will reduce the agent's commission, (2) risk loosing your business to an agent that may provide you with a better comparative quote. The smart thing to do is to do what's best for the client.
You must realize the importance of an annual policy review. It may save you money if your driving history or financial status has improved. A review will make you aware that present coverages may need to be raised to cover liability claims. An annual review also offers you the opportunity to add coverages that you initially felt was not needed, or coverages that you could not afford at the time such as: Uninsured/Underinsured motorist protection, or Personal Injury Protection (PIP).
Get reacquainted with your Texas auto insurance policy and get your annual review. Why not, you deserve it!
